Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as experience in preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses. The Tax Preparer will work closely with clients to gather necessary financial information, analyze their tax situation, and ensure that all tax forms are completed accurately and submitted on time.

Responsibilities:

• Interview clients to gather necessary financial information and documents
• Analyze financial data to determine tax liabilities and eligibility for credits and deductions
• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Review and verify completed tax forms for accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Provide tax planning advice to clients and assist with tax-related issues and questions
• Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and maximize tax savings for clients

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation since it’s a seasonal position perfect for a retired accountant who is looking to be active again in the field
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
