What you will be doing:
Join our Enterprise Applications team and lead the way in engineering a variety of state-of-the-art mobile applications of State of Alaska services where you will spend your day designing, coding, and maintaining mobile apps, ensuring they run smoothly and look great!

Lead the communications and coordination with stakeholders, including business analysts and project managers throughout the State of Alaska enterprise, State Security Office, and Department leadership staff to gather and understand requirements for new applications or updates to existing.

Bring your passion for creative problem-solving and delivery of innovative solutions to ensure our mobile apps work on multiple platforms. There will be regular testing and debugging these apps to find and fix any issues as well as performance tuning and optimization.

Exhibit your technical documentation abilities by maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of code and app related information for tracing logical decision making that occurred in the code development cycle to improve the team’s capabilities in diagnosis of arising issues.

This position is being recruited as a dual-location recruitment, and can be at either 333 Willoughby Ave, 5th floor in Juneau, or 619 E Ship Creek Ave in Anchorage. The daily work environment is a computer/technology office environment.

  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

 

  • Hardware: Knowledge of specifications, uses, and types of computer or computer-related equipment.
  • Infrastructure Design:  Knowledge of the architecture and typology of software, hardware, and networks, including LANS, WANS, and telecommunications systems, their components and associated protocols and standards, and how they operate and integrate with one another and with associated controlling software.
  • Operating Systems:  Knowledge of computer network, desktop, and mainframe operating systems and their applications.
  • Systems Integration:  Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.
  • Systems Testing and Evaluation:  Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems testing and evaluation procedures and technical characteristics of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues. 
 
Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Training in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a similar field and professional experience in database, network, or system administration.
