Role: CPA

Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Duration: FULL TIME

Job Responsibilities:

• You will supervise income tax return compliance engagements and planning related to the same.
• George Bagley and Company L.L.C. has been an independent certified public accounting firm for 100 years.
• We have chosen to remain a local firm to provide personalized services in accounting, auditing, taxation and other related areas to our clients.
• Our tax practice focuses on closely held, private businesses and their owners, but our taxation practice spans the following taxation types for both compliance and planning
• Corporate, S Corporate, Partnership, Trust and Individual income taxes as well as Estate and Gift Taxes and Not-for-Profit entities, including Private Foundations.
• Partnership track available, if desired.

Job Requirements:

• CPA having at least 8 years of public accounting experience performing audits, reviews and/or compilations.
• Must have an understanding of recent accounting and auditing pronouncements for-profit and preferably also for not-for-profit businesses.
• No SEC audits or governmental audits are performed.
• You will be responsible for performing and supervising audits, reviews, and compilations. Tax experience would be helpful, but not required.
• Regarding salaries for both of our open roles, we really are open to discussing and structuring salaries that make sense based upon experience.
• If you have to have dollars for your software format, I would say each position is from $100k to $175k as a base with no expectation of the candidate bringing clients.
• If your software limits a range to $50k, then please use $125k to $175k. Above $175k, we end up trying to balance the need for the prospect to bring some profitable clients into the firm, but not an entire book of business that we can’t absorb.
• For example, if someone is looking for $225k and brings with them $50k of profitable clients, that will work.
• If someone is looking to make $325k and are bringing with them $150k of clients, while the math works, we don’t have capacity to merge in a sole practitioner , so this type of scenario may not work.
• Both positions are open to be filled by now and we would prefer the candidates start by mid-January.
• Both positions are open due to pending retirements (one in the near future; the other likely in 3 to 5 years).
• Our firm is growing and has had next to no turnover over the past 5 years that I have been here.
• We currently have 14 team members comprised of 4 partners, 2 admin professionals, 2 interns, 3 junior staff, and 3 senior staff.
• For both positions, the candidates would report directly to the partners.
• For candidates with 8 years or more of public accounting experience, we are willing to structure a hybrid arrangement outside of busy season.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80.00 - $82.00 per hour
