We are seeking a Product Manager to guide the continuing evolution of dailykos.com and associated products. As Product Manager, you will be responsible for gathering requirements and specifying features which support readers’ and activists’ participation on site and in the broader grass roots political process by thoroughly understanding user motivation and goals, researching best practices and competitive sites, running user testing, administering surveys and metrics tools and collecting feedback from staff and stakeholders from other departments. To accomplish this, you will ideate with engineers, QA and customer support, help direct the work of the graphic designer and produce clear documentation (comps, specifications, personas, etc.) that the engineering team will use to implement these features. You will report to the Senior Director of Program Management to ensure your designs and specifications advance the strategic goals of the organization and the progressive movement.

Responsibilities- Manage Agile software development processes - Oversee requirements gathering, acceptance criteria formulation, success metric definition, and liaising with design teams. - Proficient in drafting user stories and story maps, while closely monitoring issue progression and providing timely solutions to the development team. - Collaborates to refine the product backlog and facilitate daily standup meetings and other essential team gatherings. Skilled in integrating diverse stakeholder needs to construct goal-oriented roadmaps and OKRs, while appropriately scoping projects within resource limitations. - Collaborate with remote teammates and execute meticulous product acceptance tasks. Proficient in documenting business requirements and conducting thorough business analysis, leveraging market data to inform product strategies aligning with both user and business needs. - Use data-driven insights for informed decision-making, creating concise dashboards for effective communication with executive leadership. Lead A/B testing initiatives and conducting user surveys as required. - Actively engage with the user community on dailykos.com to ensure a thorough understanding of user perspectives and needs, fostering company-wide success through stakeholder alignment.
