Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance of the buildings, houses, facilities, greenhouses, equipment and the supervision and coordination of all maintenance employees.
CORE EXPECTATIONS • Performing minor to complex skilled maintenance tasks of facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding and some painting tasks.
• Repairing pumps, motors, fans, louvers, roofs, doors, drains, septic, organized storage areas, etc.
• Maintains electrical equipment, machinery controls, lighting, and wiring in buildings; and power generation, control, and transmission devices used by electrical utilities.
• Operation of heavy power-driven equipment, including, but not limited to, trucks, loaders and various equipment used for maintenance and repair.
• Perform routine cleaning of grounds including lawn care and snow removal.
• Maintains preventative maintenance for equipment.
• Maintain and repair of water distribution system throughout the numerous greenhouse areas.
• Perform repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical distribution, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
• Perform plumbing maintenance and repair to steam/hot water lines.
• Ability to be on call for emergency maintenance services to repair any equipment that is essential for the proper operation of the greenhouse and its structures.
• Supervise all maintenance employees and coordinate their work assignments.
• Train new employees on safety procedures and proper protocol.
• Other core expectations will be defined by your direct supervisor/manager.

• Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
• Ability to operate forklift, front end loaders, and electrical carts.
• Ability to work with low pressure, hot water boilers.
• Follow oral or written instructions.
• Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
• You must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Good critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to interact with team members, senior support personnel, high level personnel and customers.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Planning, organizing and attention to detail.
• Adaptability and multi-tasking; experience working in a fast moving environment.
• Technical aptitude.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION • Minimum of high school degree or;
• Five years of experience in general public works construction, maintenance, and repair work, including the operation of a wide range of related power-driven equipment.
• Must have a MN 1st Class C Engineer Boiler License.
• Previous supervisory experience.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to exert up to 15-40 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds of force constantly in order to lift and move product.
• Ability to balance, reach and grasp while climbing on a step stool and/or ladder
• Ability to crouch, grasp, and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly
• Ability to be on feet while performing job responsibilities
• Technical aptitude.
