Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel school buses to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Perform repairs and replacements of parts as needed, adhering to safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
• Assist in training new technicians and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, preferably with school buses.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary info:

$28 - $32 / hr
