JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Acceptable Experience and Training

  • Must hold a valid Idaho Administrator’s Certificate
  • Master’s Degree in School Administration, Supervision and Curriculum preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years successful teaching and/or administrative/supervisor experience.
  • Have distinguished themselves among peers.
  • Other requirements as determined by the Superintendent and/or Board

Knowledge of:



  • A variety of management, collaboration and problem solving strategies
  • Student learning data to guide instructional improvements
  • Methods to engage and empower others to take action and responsibility to achieve results
  • Personal computers and Microsoft office WORD and EXCEL and specialized software that applies to the work performed
  • Relevant Federal and State education laws to maintain accreditation, IDEA, Section 504 and FERPA compliance, personnel matters, evaluation and labor relations
  • BoiseSchool District policies and procedures

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Area Supervisors exercise oversight and responsibility for managing assigned District educational programs and student services. Curriculum, instruction, athletics, health, counseling, and specialized student needs programs are among these services. Supervisors confer with central administrators and site leadership to assist with staffing, manage specific curricular issues, develop department budgets, direct the selection and provision of classroom resources, and articulate and implement the District’s programs, initiatives and Strategic Plan.


Content Area Supervisors develop, coordinate and implement the District’s adopted curriculum through an ongoing process that integrates innovation in context of strategic change focused on enhancing student achievement and the learning experience. Supervisors help plan and develop quality professional development for principals, consultants and instructional staff. Supervisors share in the responsibility to plan and design quality professional development for principals, consultants and instructional staff and assist in the determination of the programs needed throughout the school district to promote a safe learning and working environment.
