The Department of Political Science at Yale University is seeking to hire several faculty members at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with an appointment in the fields of Comparative Politics, Political Economy, and/or International Relations, beginning July 1, 2025. Suitable candidates may also be hired jointly with the Jackson School of Global Affairs, in which case faculty will be expected to share their teaching and service obligations between both the Political Science Department and the Jackson School of Global Affairs. This search includes additional resources in two targeted areas within this broader search area. The first is for an assistant professor with expertise in African Politics, who will teach at least one course cross-listed with, and contribute to, Yale's Council on African Studies. The second is for a candidate who works on Environmental Politics, jointly appointed with the Jackson School of Global Affairs. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of political science commensurate with their expertise. Candidates jointly appointed with Jackson will also teach courses in Jackson’s undergraduate and graduate curriculum. If candidates are appointed at the untenured level, the initial appointment will be for 5 years. The teaching expectation is normally 3 courses per academic year.
