This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for supporting and maintaining desktop hardware and software for AACU (headquarters, disaster recovery center, and numerous branch locations nationwide).

What you'll do

  • ​Install, configure, test, maintains, monitor, and troubleshoot end user personal computer (PC) hardware, software, printers, scanners, peripheral devices, and networking hardware products
  • Travel to branch locations to perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems and implement corrective solutions
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, emails, and service desk requests
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment
  • Monitor and test PC performance and provides performance statistics and reports
  • Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems
  • Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase
  • Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs and related products
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and peripheral equipment improvements and upgrades
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts
  • Coordinate with third-party support and PC equipment vendors
  • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintains current knowledge of plan executables, and responds to crisis in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or at least two years of equivalent progressive experience

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Experience in Desktop Support

     

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11), Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
  • Skilled in understanding Microsoft Applications administration including the installation and support of Microsoft Office (version 2013 and Office 365)
  • Ability to support Telecom/Telephone application/infrastructure
  • Skilled in excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as printers, computers and peripherals
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel, as needed
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
